HOW IT HAPPENED:
First Half
- The Sailfish scored on their opening possession, but that would prove to be the only time in the game that the visitors led.
- Gumm knocked down a triple on Rollins' first possession and Cade Long followed that with a steal and a coast-to-coast layup to make it 5-2 Tars one minute into the game.
- Another Gumm three increased the lead to 15-10 just over five minutes into the contest.
- After PBA got back to within a point (18-17), Rollins rattled off eight straight points to pull ahead, 26-17 at the midway point of the half.
- A Grishaev three with 9:07 on the clock gave the Tars their first double-digit lead of the day, 29-19.
- The Sailfish used a 6-0 spurt to trim the deficit to six (34-28) with 5:44 to play, but PBA went cold from there, failing to score for the remainder of the period.
- Rollins scored the last 10 points of the half to hold a 44-28 lead at the break.
Second Half
- Just like the first half, PBA scored on its opening possession.
- Much like the first half, Rollins responded by going on a run, this time a 15-0 spurt that blew the game open, putting the Tars up 59-30 with 14:34 left in the game.
- A put-back layup from Will Erickson gave Rollins its biggest lead of the day, 77-40, with 8:26 on the clock.
- The Sailfish were able to cut into the deficit, going on a 20-5 run to make it an 82-60 game with 2:16 to play.
- Rollins was able to stop the momentum, cruising to an 88-65 win.
