WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 10, 2021) – The Tars won a back-and-forth contest, defeating Florida Southern 13-12 on a hot spring day at Barker Family Stadium. Rollins improves to 2-2 on the year, and 2-2 in Sunshine State Conference action. The Mocs drop to 1-4 overall and 1-3 against conference foes.

Bailey Pringle registered a game high five points, coming on four goals and one assist. The junior attackman was also aggressive in the ride, causing three turnovers.Â
Blake Buell added a hat-trick, and
Grant Long scored a pair of goals.Â
Ryan Dunn and
Connor Coltharp each dished out a pair of assists.Â
Justin Isenhour and
Chase Snyder each caused two turnovers.Â
Cam Reeves went 9-17 at the faceoff dot. Cody iserman registered 11 saves, playing the full 60 minutes in net for the Tars.

Coby Bielec and Sean Nolan each netted a hat-trick for Florida Southern. Jeff Atlas paced the Mocs with two assists in the contest. Maxwell Freestone was vital for Florida Southern, making 15 saves between the pipes.

The Mocs started the game with a pair of scores. The Tars got on the board courtesy of a
Grant Long tally.Â
Bailey Pringle then recorded a natural hat-trick to put the Tars in front. The Medford Lakes, New Jersey product capped the four goal run with a textbook behind the back effort. The Mocs regrouped and found the back of the net four times in the final three minutes of the period, and Florida Southern took a 6-4 lead into the first break.

Rollins stopped the Moc's run early in the second quarter, when
Brandon Carlin beat his defender down the ally and put a shot behind Freestone.Â
Blake Buell equalized the game at 6-6.Â
Connor Coltharp registered the go ahead goal; the sophomore scooped up the garbage after a Florida Southern save put the ball in the back of the net.Â
Marshall Ellison netted his first score of the season, giving Rollins an 8-6 lead. The Mocs would register their lone second quarter tally late, to make the score 8-7 as the halftime whistle sounded.

Out of the half both defenses upped their intensity, and while the only one score was added to the board, the quarter was played at a frenetic pace. The ball went up and down the field until Buell beat the keeper at the three and a half minute mark, extending Rollins advantage to 9-7.

The Mocs would score the first two goals of the fourth quarter to knot the contest at 9-9.Â
Grant Long sent a shot high past Freestone to regain the Rollins lead. Florida Southern would pull even again, and the score sat at 10-10 with less than seven minutes remaining.Â
Finn Jent stung a corner to spark a three goal Rollins run, putting the game away. Pringles fourth and Buell's third made the score 13-10. Florida Southern tallied two goals in the final minutes, but the Tars made a defensive stand in the final seconds to secure the win.
