Men's Lacrosse Set to Compete for SSC Crown

The Tars will play a 10 game season against SSC opposition

WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 16, 2021) – Rollins men's lacrosse is set to compete for a Sunshine State Conference title in 2021.  The Tars will play a six game conference schedule, after which a champion will be crowned.  Rollins will complete their slate with four more non-conference contests against SSC opposition.

Rollins opens their season against a highly touted Tampa squad.  The Spartans will visit Sandspur Field on March 24, after opening the year as the second-ranked team in the nation.

The Tars will take to the road for their next two games, traveling down south to take on the Lynn Fighting Knights on March 27, and heading to Melbourne to battle the Florida Tech Panthers on March 31.

Two of Rollins' oldest rivals will make trips to Winter Park on back-to-back Saturdays in early April.  Saint Leo and Rollins will faceoff on April 3, and Florida Southern will come to the shores of Lake Virginia on April 10.  The Mocs currently sit at No. 20 in the USILA National Rankings.

The Tars will conclude their SSC schedule on April 17 with a trip to West Palm Beach to take on the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish.

Rollins final four games will be a visit from Florida Tech, a pair of trips to the No. 20 Mocs and the Saint Leo Lions, while the regular season will end on the turf, at Sandspur Field, against the Sailfish, on May 1.

Rollins has received votes in the USILA National Poll.  The Tars lost talented players to graduation, but return 69% of their scoring from the shortened 2020 season.  The attack will be highlighted by Bailey Pringle, whose six goals last season led all returners, and Ryan Dunn a 2019 All-SSC selection.  Rollins defense also returns a wealth of talent including Preseason All-American short stick defensive midfielder James Cowan, starting long stick midfielder Chase Snyder, and team captain Charlie Rask.
