TAMPA, Fla. (November 19, 2021) – Rollins fell 3-0 to Tampa in their penultimate contest of the 2021 campaign. Rollins falls to 6-22 overall and 2-16 in Sunshine State Conference play. The Spartans clinch the SSC crown, improving to 27-2 overall and 18-1 in conference action

How It Happened:
- Kills by Riley Spurlin and Lana Gerard got the Tars off to a good start in set number one. The two teams then traded points with three straight points, to take a 11-6 lead, then four consecutive scores to extend the advantage to 16-11. The Tars and Spartans exchanged tallies down the stretch, which was enough to carry Tampa to the first set win.
- Another Gerard kill and a Kaylee Tutor ace gave the Tars another early advantage, but again Tampa would respond to the early deficit to take the lead. An Alexis Yeager kill and a pair of Tampa errors brought Rollins level at 9-9, but Rollins struggled to hold the momentum and the Spartans slowed pulled away down the stretch, taking a commanding 2-0 lead.
- The Tars battled in the third set, trading blows with the Spartans. Rollins got kills from Gerard, Yeager, and Spurlin, to go with a bevy of Spartan errors, and led as late as 11-10. However, Tampa recovered with scoring runs of four, four, and three, as they sealed the match away, sweeping Rollins, 3-0.
