WINTER PARK, Fla. (December 17, 2019) – Rollins men's swimming ended its 2019 calendar year with a huge Sunshine State Conference win over Florida Tech, 153-109.
Alex Norcini captured three individual wins to lead the Tars effort. The junior won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:45.72, the 100-yard back stroke in 53.90 and the 400-yard IM in 4:15.65. Norcini also swam a leg of the Tars winning 200-yard medley relay, joining Connor Xu, Asa Marvel and Christian Huber to stop the clock at 1:35.38.
Huber dominated the sprints, winning the 50-yard freestyle in 21.35 and the 100-yard freestyle in 47.38.
Xu swept the distance events, taking first in the 1000-yard freestyle in 10:07.67, 22 seconds ahead of second place, and later winning the 500-yard freestyle in 4:49.14.
Marvel picked up a victory in the 100-yard butterfly in 52.63.
Elliott Wylie won the 50-yard backstroke in 25.96.
The Tars capped the day with a win in the 200-yard freestyle relay as Cruse Sweeney, Luke Bunnell, Marvel and Huber posted a time of 1:25.82.
Rollins will be back in the pool after the holiday break, visiting Savannah, Georgia to take on SCAD on January 4.
