Hall's Big Day Vaults Tars into 4th at UNA

KILLEN, Ala. (October 22, 2019) – Senior Will Hall fired a four-under 68 and helped move Rollins into fourth place to finish the TVA Credit Union Invitational. 

Rollins came into the day sixth in the nine-team, mostly Division I field and moved up two spots to fourth behind Hall and a solid all-around team effort. The Tars posted scores of 300-291 to finish 15-over at the rain-shortened event. 

UT-Martin won at one-under while host North Alabama (+4) took second and New Orleans (+11) was third. 

Hall was the biggest mover on Tuesday, after shooting a 76 in Monday's opening round to land in a tie for 45th. He slipped to two-over after the first three holes before grabbing his first of seven birdies. The senior later hit the turn at one-over. Hall caught fire on the back, coming home at five-under with five birdies over the last nine-holes. His 68 was the second-best round of the entire field and vaulted him 39 spots into a tie for sixth place. 

Nicholas Diebel also had a strong final day, moving 14 spots into a tie for 21st at three-over. The sophomore turned in scores of 75-72 at the event. Louis-Francois Charpentier tied for 36th after a nine-spot move up the leaderboard on Tuesday. He opened with a 76 and shot 74 Tuesday to finish at six-over. 

Trystan Perkins tied for 43rd at seven-over, shooting scores of 74-77 and Danny Taggart tied for 50th, shooting rounds of 75-77 (+5). 

Alfie Fox of UAB won medalist honors with two rounds of 69 (-6). 

Rollins will close out the fall season Oct. 28-29 by hosting the McDonough Cup at Rio Pinar Golf Club in Orlando.
