No. 12 Midwestern State – 6

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (March 12, 2018) – Rollins was unable to overcome the No. 12 Midwestern State Mustangs in their second match in Las Vegas, falling 6-3.  With the loss Rollins falls to 7-5 on the year, while Midwestern State improves to 3-4 in 2018.

The Mustangs jumped out to a commanding 3-0 lead with a sweep of double action.  Teresa Kaiser and Katie Dyson battled in the second position, but ultimately fell to Bianca Duff and Greta Lazzarotto, 8-6.

The Tars managed a split of singles play, but could not complete the comeback attempt.  Katie Dyson tallied the Tars' first point, dominating the second court match over the No. 8 player in the South Central Region, Duff, 6-1, 6-3.  Kaiser cruised in the fifth spot, capturing a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Lazzarotto.  The Mustangs took the next two matches to clinch the overall victory; but Marie Debruyn would continue to battle, taking the number six singles match, moving to 8-3 on the year, with a 6-4, 7-5 win.

The Tars will conclude their Las Vegas slate with a match up against No. 7 St. Mary's (Texas).  First serve against the Rattlers is set for Wednesday, March 14, at 12 p.m.
