SET-UP:
The ninth-ranked Rollins women's lacrosse team enters
into Thursday's South Region showdown with an overall record of
4-2, and are riding a three-game win streak. The Tars, who will
take on their third Nationally Ranked team within the IWLCA DII
Top-10, are set to square up against the Saints for the
10th time in program history, with Limestone leading the
all-time series, 6-3.
The Limestone College women's lacrosse team moved up one spot in
the second regular season Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches
Association Division II Poll and is now ranked seventh, as
announced by the IWLCA on Monday, Mar. 6.
Limestone enters into Thursday's game riding a perfect 5-0
record so far this season, most recently coming off of a game that
saw the Saints 2in 15-6 over Belmont Abbey. The Saints, the 2016
Conference Carolinas champion, who at one point earned seven
straight NCAA Tournament appearances from 2008 through 2014,
finished the season ranked at No. 17 on the IWLCA Poll but were
unable to secure a bid to play in the post season for the second
straight year.
TRACKING THE TARS:
Hannah
Ashton leads the team in goals with 14, followed closely by Kallie
German with 13, and Paige
Brock with 10. German leads the team in overall points, adding
a team high 12 assists for a team best 25 points so far this
season. Maggie
Dougherty follows with four assists so far in her freshman
season, adding eight goals for 12 points so far this year. Malorie
Olin leads the team in ground balls so far this season with 11,
followed by Sophie
Stavisky with 10. P. Brock leads the team off the draw with an
impressive 19 draw controls so far in six games played, followed by
Dougherty with 14, good for second best on the squad. In goal,
Olin has played a total of 272:06 minutes, setting aside 92 shots
while making 42 saints, good for a save percentage of .575. Olin
has allowed 31 goals, averaging 6.84 goals against you.
TRACKING THE SAINTS:
Jaylen Schulte leads the team in five games with 20 goals on the
season, followed by Carleigh Davis with 19 goals and 15 assists for
a team high 34 points. Shannon Sisk leads the team in assists with
21, while adding nine goals for 30 points so far this year.
Courtney Lafler rounds out the Saints' attack with 12 goals and
three assists for 15 points on the season. Davis has earned three
game-winning goals in five games played. Both Jenna Haring and
Rose Blackburn lead the team with 13 ground balls each, while
Marina Jozokos leads the team with 17 draw controls, followed by
Kendra Sheppard with 14 and Alyssa Voccia with 12. Blackburn leads
the team with eight caused turnovers, followed by Samantha
Yurechuk, Voccia, and Sisk with five each. In goal for the Saints,
Jenna Haring has played in all five contests, earning two starts,
seeing a total of 192:03 minutes between the pipes. Haring has
earned 12 saves on 42 shots faced, compiling a save percentage of
.387 so far this season. Haring has also compiled 19 goals
against, averaging 5.94 per game. Sydney Teeter has recently
earned starts in three of the Tars' five games, playing a total of
96:42 minutes. Teeter has faced 11 shots, earning two saves, while
allowing nine goals for a goals against average of 5.58.

- The rivalry between the Tars and Saints dates back to April 24,
2009
- Limestone holds the edge over the Tars in the all-time series,
6-3.
- Rollins has seen four different players notch game-winning
goals so far this season.
- Thursday's game marks the third time the Tars have faced a team
ranked in the IWLCA DII Top-10 standings this season.
