SET-UP:
The ninth-ranked Rollins women's lacrosse team enters
into Sunday afternoon's match-up with an overall record of 5-2
after picking up a 13-9 upset victory over No. 7 Limestone this
past week. The Tars have squared up against four nationally-ranked
opponents so far this season, and are riding a four-game win
streak.
Alabama-Huntsville makes the trek to Winter Park riding a three
game win streak while holding onto a record of 8-1. Most recently,
the Chargers played a double-header on March 10, earning a 22-1
victory over Truett-McConnell to open the day, followed by a 22-3
win over Davis & Elkins to wrap up the evening. In their last
three games, the Chargers have outscored their opponents, 66-9.
The Chargers, who are in the second season as a varsity program,
finished their inaugural campaign with a record of 14-4, and fell
to the Young Harris Mountain Lions by a final score of 17-7 in the
Gulf South Conference Invitational Tournament on April 24,
2016.
TRACKING THE TARS:
After seven games this season, the Tars are led in
overall scoring by Kallie
German who has notched 28 points after compiling 14 goals and a
team best 14 assists. Freshman Hannah
Ashton leads the team in goals with 18, and has earned one
assist for 19 points so far in her first year. Paige
Brock follows with 12 goals and one assist, while Maggie
Dougherty has earned 10 goals and a team second best six
assists for 16 points. Hannah
Coakley has earned double-digit points in her first season,
earning eight goals and three assists for 11 points. Sophie
Stavisky has picked up a team high 12 ground balls, followed by
Malorie
Olin in goal with 11, and Dougherty with nine. Paige
Brock leads the team with 19 draw controls, while Dougherty has
won 16, and Ashton has pulled in 13. Defensively, Lindsay
Van Beck leads the team with eight caused turnovers, followed
by Dougherty with seven. In goal, Olin has complied a record of
4-1 on the season, having faced 109 shots and making 48 saves for a
save percentage of .545. Olin has allowed 40 goals in seven games
played, notching a goals against average of
7.23.
TRACKING THE CHARGERS:
Jenna Carr leads the team in goals with 28, followed closely by
Natalie Pachinger with 27, and Nicole Federovitch with 26.
Federovitch has also earned a team high 10 assists, while Pachinger
has dished out seven, and Carr and Alanna Carvalho have earned five
apiece. Pachinger also leads the team in ground balls with 39, and
caused turnovers with 25. Shannon Kruse follows in both categories
with 21 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers. Off the draw,
Pachinger leads once again with 29, followed by Jordan Gaines with
20, and Kruse with 19.
NOTES:
- Sunday's game marks the first time the Tars and Chargers will
meet in official competition.
- When playing on their home turf, the Tars are 4-1 so far this
season.
- In their last three games, the Chargers have outscored their
opponents, 66-9.
- Of the Chargers' 157 goals, only 41 have been assisted this
season.
- All five of the Tars' game-winning goals have been scored by
different players this season.
- Rollins has earned assists on 34 of their 92 goals this
year.

Rollins returns to action on Tuesday, March 14, when they
host Seton Hill at Barker Family Stadium and Cahall-Sandspur Field.
