WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 13, 2017) - Rollins
women's lacrosse midfielder Hannah
Ashton has been named Sunshine State Conference Offensive
Player of the Week for the period ending March 12, league officials
announced Monday. This marks the second SSC Weekly award of the
season for Ashton.
Ashton led the Tars on the week with six goals, one assist, and
eight draw controls. The freshman's performance helped Rollins win
both games, including a 13-9 upset over No. 7 Limestone on Thursday
night. Ashton, a middie, scored a game high four goals against
then seventh-ranked Saints, and added a team high five draw
controls as the Tars took down their south region foe. The Berwyn,
Pa. native then closed out the week with two goals, one assist, and
three draw controls against Alabama-Huntsville. Rollins has now
won five straight with Ashton's help, and enters into the second
portion of their schedule with a record of 6-2.
The Tars return to action on Tuesday, March 14, when they host
Seton Hill at Barker Family Stadium and Cahall-Sandspur Field.
Game time against the Griffins is set for 7 p.m. Fans who are
