SET-UP:
The seventh-ranked Rollins women's lacrosse team wraps up
a six game home stand when they host Belmont Abbey on Saturday
afternoon at Barker Family Stadium and Cahall-Sandspur Field. The
Tars are riding a six game home streak entering into Saturday's
game, and hold onto an overall record of 7-2 on the season. Last
time out, the Tars picked up a 9-7 victory over a resilient Seton
Hill squad on Tuesday, March 12. Kallie
German led the way with three goals and one assist, while Paige
Brock and Brittany
Eveler notched two goals apiece.
The Crusaders make the trip to Winter Park with a record of 4-4,
most recently coming off of a 9-7 loss at the hands of Saint Leo on
Wednesday, March 18. Prior to their game against Saint Leo,
Belmont Abbey picked up a 20-1 win over Erskine on March 8, but
dropped an 8-7 decision to Wingate on March 4. The Crusaders also
matched up against Sunshine State Conference opponent Florida Tech
on February 24, where they fell to the Panthers by a final score of
17-5.
BAC finished last season with a record of 11-7, and were 6-2
against Conference Carolinas opponents. The Crusaders advanced to
the Conference Carolinas tournament, where they eventually fell to
Mount Olive in the tournament semifinals by a final score of
11-4.

Leading the team in goals after nine games is Kallie
German with 21, followed closely by Hannah
Ashton with 20. German has also notched a team high 17 assists
for 38 points, followed by Maggie
Dougherty wit eight. Paige
Brock has tallied 16 goals, followed by Dougherty and Brittany
Eveler with 12 apiece. Megan

Coakley have notched nine goals each, with Coakley adding four
assists for 13 points on the season. The team is led in ground
balls by goalie Malorie
Olin with 17, followed by Sophie
Stavisky with 16, and Jessica
Kopenhaver with 13 so far this season. Off the draw, Dougherty
has won a team high 24, followed closely by Paige
Brock with 21. Defensively, Lindsay
Van Beck leads the team with 11 caused turnovers, followed by
German with eight and Dougherty and Maddie
Hendren with seven each. Olin has seen a total of 452 minutes
in cage, earning 51 saves on 137 shots faced for a save percentage
of .540. The junior has allowed just 52 goals, averaging 6.9 per
game.
TRACKING THE CRUSADERS:
Belmont Abbey is led in goals by Rebecca Luca, who has notched
25 in eight games played, followed by Katelin Glass with 23.
Caitlin Cook leads the team in assists with 14, followed by Luca
with nine and Glass with seven. Amber Eakins leads the team in
ground balls with 19, while Kassie Easter has 17 and Glass has
picked up 14. Rebecca Stromberg has won a team high 25 draw
controls, followed closely by Marin Felsoci with 22. Defensively,
Eakins holds onto a team best 22 caused turnovers, followed by
Easter with 15 and Glass with 13 on the season. In goal for
Belmont Abbey, Annie Brannon has played in all eight games, seeing
a total of 412 minutes between the pipes. Brannon has earned 32
saves for a save percentage of .376, and has allowed 53 goals,
averaging 7.7 per game.
NOTES:
- The Tars currently hold a 3-1 series advantage over the
Crusaders, with their last matchup occurring on February 12, 2015
where the Tars picked up a 17-10 win.
- The Tars have notched 117 goals so far this season, while
holding their opponents to just 68.
