NOTES: The sixth-ranked Rollins women's
lacrosse team has rolled to four straight victories to open their
2016 campaign, and now has their sights set on Queens University of
Charlotte in a Monday night South Region matchup. Game time
against the Royals is slated for 7 p.m. Fans who are unable to

ROLLINS AT A GLANCE: After shutting down the
ninth-ranked Stonehill College Skyhawks on Saturday evening, the
Tars now set their sights on 14th-ranked Queens
University of Charlotte.
Rollins enters into Monday's showdown with an overall mark of
4-0 after their 15-4 victory over Stonehill. Leading the way on
the season is senior Tyler Thomas, who has scored a team best 15
goals and has added three assists for a team high 18 points so far
this season. Thomas is just two goals away from becoming the
program's all-time leader in goals scored, as she currently sits in
second with 161 career goals behind Erica Pagliarulo who notched
162 goals in her four year career from 2010-13.
Kallie German and Kris Coppolino have each tallied eight goals
this season, with German adding four assists, and Coppolino earning
three of her own. German has amassed a team best 11 ground balls
so far this season, while Coppolino has caused a team high seven
turnovers.
In goal for the Tars, Malorie Olin as faced a total of 50 shots
and 44 shots on goal from her opponents. The sophomore goalie has
allowed only 15 goals so far this season, averaging 3.9 per game,
and has made 25 saves for a save percentage of .625 in four
contests. Olin has also earned nine ground balls and caused three
turnovers so far.
The Tars are coached by Dennis Short. The Spring of 2015 marks
the ninth season for Head Coach Dennis Short, posting a record of
52-17 over the last four seasons, including a pair of trips to the
NCAA National Semifinals. He is assisted by Tom Kienle, Mike
Tobin, as well as former Tars standouts Chelsea Pinneke and Alley
Rhinehart.
QUEENS UNIVERSITY OF CHARLOTTE AT A GLANCE:
Entering into Monday night's matchup with a record of 3-0, the
Royals checked in at No. 14 on the most recent IWLCA DII Coaches
Poll announced Monday, March 7. The Royals opened their season
with a 15-4 win over Tampa, followed by a 13-11 win at home against
Seton Hill University. Most recently, the Royals earned a 16-10
win over Catawba to open South Atlantic Conference action.
Alexandra Bruder leads the team in goals with eight, followed
closely by Hanna Scott and Kelly Dowd with seven apiece. Abigail
Paulus has earned a team best nine assists so far this season, and
with six goals she leads the team in overall points with 15. Scott
and Bruder follow close behind with 12 and 11 points, respectively,
while Bruder leads the team in ground balls (7), and caused
turnovers (5).
In goal for Queens, Christine Wiese has seen a full 180 minutes
between the pipes. The junior has faced a total of 44 shots and 36
shots on goal, allowing a total of 25 goals and averaging 8.3 a
game. Wiese has earned a total of 11 saves so far this season,
earning a save percentage of just .306 in three games.
The Royals are coached by Julika Blankenship (Gettysburg `04),
who enters into her third season as head coach of the program.
Blankenship has amassed an overall career record of 75-41, and is
26-9 in her time at Queens. She is assisted by Kayla Minner.
SERIES AT A GLANCE: This marks the eighth time
the Tars and Royals will match up on the game field, with Rollins
leading the series 5-2.
