ORLANDO, Fla. (October 15, 2016) - Closing out
their 2016 South Region Crossover slate, the Rollins volleyball
team took down Mississippi College in a straight sweep (25-15,
25-16, 25-19) on Saturday afternoon at the Orlando Sports
Center.
The win advances the Tars to a mark of 9-8, while the Choctaws
of Mississippi College drop to a record of 8-14 on the season.

Civiero led the team in kills with 12, posting the team's lone
double-digit kill count on the afternoon. Sam
Schlesman and Kate
Stefanski earned seven kills apiece, while Shannon
McDonough posted six on the day. Gina
Cappetta tallied 23 assists, followed by Cassidy
Cason with 11. Rebecca
Wilson tallied a match high 16 digs, followed by Civiero with
10. Sophomore Sam
Schlesman led the team in total blocks with five.
The Choctaws saw a team high seven kills from Shelby Grace
Mays. Leading MC in assists was Sydney Chandler with 10, followed
by Bailee Berringer with nine. Ashton King led the squad in digs
with 14, followed by Berringer with 11. Jamila Biglow and Jenna
Campbell each put up four blocks, with Biglow earning the team's
lone solo stop on the day.
NOTES:

The match marked the second straight year the Tars have taken
down Mississippi College in straight sets at the South Region
Crossover.

With her 16 digs this afternoon, Rebeca Wilson has notched 920
total in her career. With 14 matches left to play in the season,
the junior from Winter Haven, Fla. is on pace to eclipse the 1000
dig mark before season's end.

Civiero notched 12 kills on 30 total attacks - posting just
three errors on the day, the junior from Mount Dora, Fla. earned a
hitting percentage of .300 on the afternoon. Adding on her 10 digs
marks her eighth double-double of the season.

The match saw a total of 17 tied scores, and nine lead changes -
Set 3 saw the most action as the score was tied seven times and saw
a match high four lead changes.
