WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (April 25, 2015) The Rollins softball team finished the regular season on a high note by sweeping Palm Beach Atlantic in doubleheader fashion Saturday Afternoon at Simpson Field. With the 6-1 victory in Game One, Michelle Frew notched her 700th career victory at Rollins. The Tars finished the day strong with an 8-0 five-inning shutout in Game Two.

Rollins jumps up to 37-11 on the year after the victories while Palm Bach Atlantic drops to 32-21.

Rollins started scoring right off the bat. In the first inning Brittany Johnson drew a walk, stole second, then scored on Jule Kranz's single to left field to give the Tars an early 1-0 advantage. Rollins added three more in the second frame to lead 4-0 on a pair of fielder's choices compounded by an error.

Rollins tacked on another two in the fifth on Chelsea Reed's squeeze bunt and Hannah Horwath's RBI single up the middle. PBA managed a run in the sixth inning but the game belonged to Rollins 6-1.

Niki Fogle surrendered just the one run in her seven innings in the circle in Game One and struck out nine.

Extra-base hits powered Rollins to victory in the second game of the day. Horwath belted her fourth home run of the season with one out in the second inning to give the Tars a 1-0 lead.

Jule Kranz legged out an infield single in the fourth inning then was tripled home by Courtney Durbin to double the Tars lead, 2-0. After Durbin scored on a passed ball, Hali Marshall tripled to deep right center, plating pinch runner Bailey Miller and increasing the Tars lead to 4-0.

Rollins strung together five hits in the fourth inning, scoring four runs with two outs. Courtney Durbin and Horwath had infield RBI singles while Osmanski drove in the final run of the day with a double down the left field line.

Fogle finished the day strong by twirling a three-hit shutout. In total, Fogle allowed one earned run in twelve innings while striking out 15 Sailfish. With two victories today, Fogle becomes the third Tar to win 30 games in a season.

Rollins sits fourth in the South Region and awaits its postseason fate, which will be announced later this season.
