WINTER PARK, Fla. (November 7, 2015) - Coming off of an epic five set battle the night before, the Rollins volleyball team was unable to even the series against Nova Southeastern University on Saturday, falling to the Sharks in a 3-0 decision in Warden Arena. The Tars drop to 10-16 overall and 5-8 in the SSC, while the Sharks improve to 18-10 overall and 8-5 in the SSC.

Sophomore Bri Civiero led the Tars with nine kills, followed by fellow sophomore Kianna Dieudonné and freshman Kerra Tirado with five each. The senior duo of MaryEllen Pole and April Jackson each added 10 assists for the Tars. Defensively, Rebecca Wilson had 14 digs, followed by Pole with 10 for the double-double. Freshman Rachel Sawyer led the team with four blocks.

For the Sharks, Denvyr Tyler-Palmer led the team with 14 kills, followed by Dana Holger with 12. Katie Pyles led the Sharks' squad with 31 assists. Defensively, Megan Burns tallied 18 digs, followed by Pyles with 15. At the net, Caitlin Donahue contributed five blocks.

The Sharks jumped out to a quick 12-3 lead to start the match, but the Tars did not back down, pulling the score as close as 22-18. However, Rollins was unable to recover from the Sharks' early advantage, dropping the first set in a 25-19 decision.

Set two saw another early 7-1 lead for the Sharks, and with a hard-fought effort, the Tars were able to come within two at 18-16. However, that was as close as Rollins would get, allowing the Sharks a 2-0 match lead with a 25-17 victory.

Set three went much like the first two, with the Sharks jumping out to a commanding 17-4 lead. The early lead proved to be too much for the Tars, as they dropped the third set in a 25-14 decision.

The Tars return to action on Friday, November 13 when they host Palm Beach Atlantic University at 7 p.m. Fans who are unable to make it to the match will be able to follow all of the live action on the Geico Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com.
