Notes: After facing tough competition the
previous week that saw the Tars pull in a mark of 2-1, the Rollins
volleyball team prepares for their final two home matches of the
season. The Tars will face Sunshine State Conference provisional
member and tenth-ranked Palm Beach Atlantic on Friday at 7 p.m.
before celebrating Senior Day against Barry on Saturday at 4 p.m.

ROLLINS AT A GLANCE: Rollins squared off
against Lynn University and Nova Southeastern last weekend in a
pair of SSC showdowns. The Tars picked up a hard fought, five set
victory against the Fighting Knights, coming from behind to take
the match (25-23, 15-25, 15-25, 25-23, 25-23). Sophomore Bri
Civiero earned a team high 17 kills and 14 digs for her seventh
double-double of the season. Senior setter April
Jackson also tallied a double-double on the night with 17
assists and 12 digs. Returning to the court less than 24 hours
later, Rollins was unable to overcome a resilient Nova Southeastern
squad, falling in straight sets (25-19, 25-18, 25-14). Senior MaryEllen
Pole recorded a double-double with 10 assists and 10 digs.
After the weekend split the Tars find their overall record at
10-16, and 5-8 in the SSC
Civiero leads the team with 285 kills, followed by Shannon
McDonough with 212 and Rachel
Sawyer with 201. Pole
and Jackson
have accumulated impressive assist numbers, with Pole registering
514 and Jackson amassing 423.
The Tars' defense is led by Rebecca
Wilson with 501 digs on the season, while R.
Sawyer has tallied 328, and Civiero comes in with 254. Kianna
Diedonné has controlled the net for the Tars recording 76
blocks, while freshman Sam
Schlesman has put up 62.
PALM BEACH ATLANTIC AT A GLANCE: The No. 10
Sailfish are coming off a straight set home victory over the No. 5
Tampa Spartans (26-24, 25-23, 25-14). With the win, Palm Beach
Atlantic moves to 23-3 on the season and extend their win streak to
13 games.
Faith Rohn leads the Palm Beach Atlantic offense with 328 kills
on the season. Her sister, Ally Rohn, who has amassed 222 kills,
comes in next on the lineup. Ally Rohn and Alexandra Schatzmann
have registered the most assists on the team, Rohn with 533 and
Schatzmann with 464.
The Sailfish defense is paced by Rachael Holehouse and her 483
digs. Faith Rohn is second on the team with 281. At the net Sarah
Ragland leads Palm Beach Atlantic, registering 147 blocks on the
season. Trailing her is Stephany Brown with 84.
LAST TIME OUT: The last time the two teams met
on the court, Rollins put up a good fight against the then
18th-ranked Sailfish on October 10, but were outlasted
by the Sailfish in a 3-1 setback in Rubin Arena. Civiero led the
Tars on the afternoon with 15 kills, followed by freshman Kerra
Tirado with 10. Wilson and R. Sawyer earned 24 and 23 digs,
respectively, to lead the squad, while Jackson tallied a team best
22 assists, followed by Pole with 16. Tirado had a dominant day at
the net, posting seven blocks, followed by Civiero with five.
The Sailfish were led by Faith Rohn, who tallied a match high 18
kills, while Emma Ballantyne and Ally Rohn earned 10 each. Ally
Rohn led the team in assists with 27, followed by Alexandra Roberts
with 22. Rachael Holehouse walked away with a team high 20 digs on
the day, followed by Faith Rohn with 18, Susie Forbes with 17, and
Roberts with 15. At the net, Sarah Ragland blocked a team high
five shots.

BARRY AT A GLANCE: In their last outing the
Buccaneers were upended by No. 5 Tampa, losing at home in straight
sets (25-21, 25-21, 25-18). With the loss Barry falls to 12-10,
and are now 7-6 in SSC play. Before coming to Winter Park Barry
will stop in Daytona Beach to match-up with Embry-Riddle on Friday,
November 13 at 7pm.
Kaitlin Drake is leading the Buccaneers with 262 kills on the
season. Eva Raat and Ivana Didanovic have registered 215 and 208
kills respectively. Jasmine Serna is pacing the Bucs in assists
with 463. She is followed closely by Jenny Trinidad and her 403
assists.
The Barry defense is led by Brittany Jaco, who has amassed 485
digs. She is followed by Kat Espinosa with 233 and Serna with
229. Didanovic leads the Bucs at the net with 82 blocks. She is
closely followed by Katie Dooley who has registered 64 blocks this
season.
LAST TIME OUT: After finding themselves
trailing after the first set, the puzzle pieces finally fit into
place for the Tars as they were able to earn a 3-1 (17-25, 25-20,
25-20, 25-17) victory over Barry on October 9 at the Health and
Sports Center in Miami Shores, Fla.
The victory snapped a 12-match skid for the Tars and marked
their first conference win of the season. Since the victory
against Barry, Rollins has posted an overall mark of 8-4.
McDonough led the way on the evening with 12 kills, followed by
Civiero and R. Sawyer with 11 apiece. Pole led the squad in
assists with 24, followed by Jackson with 16. Wilson earned a team
high 17 digs, followed by R, Sawyer who earned a double-double as
she added 13 digs to her 11 kills. Pole also earned a
double-double on the evening with 11 digs to go along with her
assist count. Defensively, MaryBethany
Vincent and Kianna
Dieudonné led the charge at the net with seven and six
blocks, respectively, as Rollins earned 14 team blocks on the night
en route to the Tars earning 14 blocks as a squad for the
evening.
Barry University was led by Eva Raat, who earned 16 kills on the
night. Jasmine Serna led the team with 22 assists, while Brittany
Jaco earned a match best 24 digs. Ivana Didanovic led the Bucs
with five blocks on the evening as Barry totaled 8.5 blocks total
as a team.
NEXT UP FOR ROLLINS: The Tars return to action
when they make the trek westward to take on Eckerd and Saint Leo.
Rollins matches up with the Tritons on Friday, November 20 at 7
p.m., followed by a Saturday matinee against Saint Leo at 4 p.m.
