Rollins built an early lead over 10th -ranked Lindenwood
but the Lions steadily fought back and eventually pulled away with
the Tars falling, 19-11. Alley
Rhinehart and Mary
Stufano led the way offensively for the Tars, both finishing
with three goals while Tyler
Thomas recorded two goals and two assists. Senior co-captain Caroline
Lamere added a goal and a pair of assists.
Entering Friday, the Tars are 11th in the country in
caused turnovers (10.45/game) and 15th in total points
(221). They are also ranked in the top-25 in scoring offense,
averaging 13.64 goals per game.
Ty. Thomas leads the team with 29 goals, 10 more than Lamere and
classmate Kelly
Thayer who sit second with 19 each. Rhinehart is third with 17
goals while Lamere owns the team lead in assists by a wide margin,
recording 21 through 11 games.
Including Ty. Thomas, Lamere, Thayer and Rhinehart, the Tars
have seven players with double digit goals. Sophomore Angelica
Perdomo has 14, Stufano has 12 and freshman Amy
Martin has 10.
In goal, Elyse De
Lisle has posted a goals against average of 12.54 with 89
saves. The senior also leads the team with 30 ground balls.
Coach Dennis
Short is now in his seventh season, compiling a record of
75-29, including 38-8 over the past three seasons. In his six years
at the helm, Short has produced eight All-Americans, the South
Region Midfielder, Defender, and GK of the Year, and a pair of
Final Four appearances.
REGIS AT A GLANCE: Last time out, the Rangers
recorded a season high 21 goals in a 21-7 win over Adams State. The
Rangers had 32 shots total to just 13 for Adams State. The Rangers
also had their way with draw controls garnering 24-of-the-30 total
controls. 10 different Rangers scored led by four each from Hilary
Duda and Erin Steiner, who came off the bench. Erin Todd and Emily
Behr each tallied three goals with Behr assisting on three others.
Katie Larson came off the bench to supply two goals.
Regis comes into Friday's game ranked fourth in the country in
caused turnovers (12.09/game) and 11th in both points
(229) and scoring margin, outscoring opponents by an average of
almost seven goals per game. The Rangers are also tied for
12th in Division II in scoring defense, allowing just
7.55 goals per game.
Duda leads the team through 11 games with 28 goals, followed
closely in second by Todd who has 26 to go along with five assists.
Emily Behr is third with 24 goals and also has a team best, 20
assists.
Gianna Lombardi has played every minute in goal for the Rangers
with a goals against average of 7.64 and 75 saves.
Sarah Kellner begins her eighth season as Regis University
women's lacrosse head coach in 2013-14 and will look to continue on
the Rangers finest three seasons in program history. The Rangers
completed the 2013 season with their second straight runner-up WILA
finish and had the second most wins in school history with 10
against just five losses. The Rangers had one of the best offenses
in the country and led the NCAA Division II in draw controls.
Kellner guided RU to an 8-2 WILA record in 2013.

Regis, winning the most recent match-up, 19-9, on March 4, 2013 in
Winter Park.
