WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 6, 2013) - The Rollins
baseball team cruised to their seventh straight victory as they
took down the Felician Golden Falcons 17-2 Wednesday night as a
part of the 65th Annual Rollins College Baseball
Week.
Junior southpaw Jack
Murray (2-2) got his first start of the season and earned the
win in 6.1 innings of work. He matched his career-high of six
strikeouts and gave up one earned run on five hits.
Murray's counterpart John Holland was tagged with the loss in
five innings on the bump. Holland allowed five runs on five hits
and struck out three Rollins batters. As a whole, Felician's
pitching staff allowed 11 walks.
Leadoff batter Hunter
Mayfield went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI, two runs and two
stolen bases. Steve
Betcherman added a 3-for-5 performance with two runs and two

Curson and Brett
Flutie also had two hits apiece.
The Golden Falcons jumped on the board early in the contest as
they plated a lone run in the opening frame. Rollins answered back
in the home half with two runs to take a 2-1 lead. Two runs in the
third followed by runs in the fifth and sixth pushed the Tars' lead
to 6-2. Felician scored their second run of the game in the
fifth.
Rollins' biggest inning came in the seventh as the Tars put up
seven runs for a 14-2 lead. The Tars capped off the night with
another four runs in the eighth that handed the Felician Golden
Falcons a 17-2 loss.
Gabriel Fellin led the Golden Falcons with three hits, one run
and one RBI.
