WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 7, 2013) - Southpaw Brett
Mueller allowed two runs on seven hits to lead Rollins 7-2 over
the Stonehill Skyhawks Thursday evening at Alfond Stadium.
Rollins improves to 11-6 overall while Stonehill falls to 7-5 on
the year.
Mueller tossed seven innings and recorded five strikeouts,
picking up his second win of the season. Isaiah
Sakany worked two innings of relief for the Tars and scattered
two hits and fanned one Stonehill batter.
After the Skyhawks plated a run in the opening frame, Rollins
answered back in the home half with a pair of runs. Hunter
Mayfield scored the first run for the Tars on a RBI double by
Brian
Lattanzi. Evan
Rivera then scored the following run on a Zach
Persky grounder to the shortstop.
Rollins added another two runs in the following inning for a 4-1
lead that would hold until the top of the fifth when the Skyhawks
scored their final run of the contest, 4-2.
A three-run sixth inning pushed the Tars' lead to 7-2 and would
ultimately hold out for the final outcome.

Flutie went 2-for-2 for the Tars with one run, one RBI and one
walk. Mayfield was 1-for-4 on the day with three runs scored and a
stolen base. Lattanzi had a double with two RBI.
Stonehill starter Jim Duff was charged with the loss in six
innings of work. He allowed seven runs on six hits while recording
four strikeouts.
Rollins will conclude the 65th Annual Rollins College
Baseball Week with a 6 p.m. match up against Assumption College on
