SAINT LEO, Fla. (November 22, 2013) - Rollins led by seven at the half, but went cold from the field in the second, falling to 18th-ranked South Carolina-Aiken 70-59 Friday night in Saint Leo.

Mitch Woods pumped in 14 points in the second half and finished the night with 19 to lead Rollins (1-4). The senior was 7-of-7 from the free throw line and also grabbed four rebounds.

Adam Allen netted 14 points, all in the first half, while Jeff Dirkin contributed eight points, six rebounds and three steals.

Aiken (5-1) was paced by Kinley Branch's 14 points off the bench. Paul Larsen added 13 points and six rebounds while Ronald Zimmerman scored 11.

The Pacers led 5-0 early, but Allen scored the game's next nine points and pushed Rollins ahead 16-7 five minutes into the game. Allen drained a 3-pointer midway through the frame to give Rollins a 22-13 lead as Aiken would get no closer than 27-25 in the first.

Rollins went into halftime leading 37-30.

In the second, the Tars held off the Pacers until the 10:55 mark when a conventional 3-point play by Rick Alderman put USCA on top 46-45. Rollins would then hit just two more field goals from that point forward as Aiken went on to lead by as many as 14 late.

Rollins shot 31 percent (16-of-52) on the night, but were just 6-of-27 in the second half. Aiken hit 24-of-44 (55 percent) from the field. Both teams hauled in 33 rebounds.

Rollins will look to snap its two-game skid on Saturday, Nov. 24th, taking in Virginia Union at Saint Leo. Tipoff is slated for 2 p.m. The Panthers were a 68-62 winner over Saint Leo on Friday night. Fans can catch all the action live on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com.
