Nova Southeastern Too Much for Tars Swimming

WINTER PARK, Fla. (November 2, 2013) - Audrey Kula and Rocio Henriquez were each victors, but Nova Southeastern's depth proved to be too much as the Sharks beat the Tars 119-86 on Saturday.

Kula won three races, including back-to-back events in the middle of the day. The sophomore started the day with a win in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:56.49. Rachel Acres was second in 2:03.67.

Kula then took first in the 200-yard fly with a time of 2:10.16 and quickly jumped back into the pool to win the next event, the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 54.53. Christine Biano was third in the fly (2:20.45) and Rocio Henriquez was third in the freestyle (57.69).

Henriquez won the 50-yard freestyle, stopping the clock at 25.50.

Grace Alexander was second in each of the distance events. The senior posted a time of 10:49.68 in the 1000-yard freestyle and was just five seconds out of first. She later posted a time of 5:20.61 in the 500-yard freestyle.

Acers bolstered her big day with a second place finish in the 200-yard backstroke, posting a time of 2:16.42.

The Tars will next host Florida Tech on Saturday, Nov. 9 at 1 p.m.
