DALLAS (NCBWA) - After earning conference
honors earlier in the week, Rollins junior Anthony
Figliolia was named National Collegiate Baseball Writers
Association (NCBWA) Division II South Region Pitcher of the Week,
it was announced Wednesday.
The right-hander earned a complete-game win over
nationally-ranked No. 6 Grand Valley State in a 2-1 decision on
Saturday, March 11. He tossed nine innings for the Blue and Gold,
allowing one earned run on six hits. He recorded four strikeouts
and walked none.
Figliolia almost recorded the Tars' fourth shutout of the
season, but was broken in the top of the ninth on a two-out
single.
Rollins will be back in action on Thursday, March 15 as they
host the Wayne State Warriors. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. Fans
