WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (November 17, 2012) - A close first half gave way to a one-sided second period as fourth-ranked Rollins downed Palm Beach Atlantic 57-42 on the road Saturday.

Ashley Jones and Sarah Blackburn led three Tars (3-0) in double figures with 11 points each. Emmalee Schill added 10 points while Sarah Taylor hauled in 11 rebounds.

Lynsey Poole netted 15 to lead PBA (0-2) while Ashley Dolberry tallied nine points and a game-high 17 rebounds.

Rollins shot 35 percent (22-62) from the field and were just 4-of-25 from 3-point range. The Tars defense held the Sailfish in check, holding them to 25 percent (15-60) shooting and owning a 51-38 rebounding advantage.

A Jones triple on Rollins' first possession set the tone and gave the Tars a lead they would not relinquish the entire night. Rollins led by as much as seven in the early going, but saw PBA twice close to within two by the middle of the half.

Rollins was up 23-18 after a Tera McDaniel 3-pointer at the 7:20 mark and held the 'Fish without a field goal the rest of the period to take a 28-21 lead into the break.

In the second, Rollins began to pull away and built a 48-30 lead with 8:02 to play. Blackburn later pushed the advantage to 20, 55-35 at the 4:11 mark with a deep 3-pointer before PBA put together a quick 7-0 over the next three minutes. Another Blackburn triple with less than a minute to play stopped the spurt and punctuated Rollins' third straight win.

The Tars start a busy holiday week on Monday, Nov. 19 by hosting Puerto Rico Bayamon at 5:30 p.m. They will then host the annual Thanksgiving Tournament, Nov. 23-24 at Warden Arena. Fans can catch all the action live on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com and locally on 91.5 FM WPRK.
