MELBOURNE, Fla. (February 17, 2009)
Rollins took a lead after doubles and won four singles matches as
the 10th ranked Tars downed Florida Tech 6-3 in the Sunshine State
Conference opener for both schools.

Carvalho won 8-5 over Jonathan Hanna and Bradley Kirkham in the
top doubles spot with Adrian
Tan and Jeff
Morris winning 8-5 over Noe Losmozos and Cody Hodes at No. 2.
The team of Nick Rowlands and Bill
Rockwood was turned back at No. 3 by the Panther's James McLane
and Michael Schmidt 8-4.
In singles play, the Tars (3-0, 1-0) won the top three seeds to
pick up the dual match win. Tan won the No. 1 match 7-6, 7-6 over
Losmozos with 10th ranked Clausen winning 6-1, 6-3 over Hanna at
No. 2. Morris, the 35th ranked player in Division II, won 6-2, 6-1
over Kirkman at No. 3 while Carvalho won 6-4, 7-5 over D.J. Pate at
No. 6.
Rollins will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 21 at top
ranked Armstrong Atlantic. Play is slated to begin at 10 a.m.
