WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 12, 2008) ' The Rollins College women's lacrosse team dropped 19-11 to the Bryant University Bulldogs on Wednesday afternoon after a hard-fought second half that pulled the Tars out of an offensive slump that plagued them for the first half of the contest.' With the loss the Tars descend to 3-5, while the Bulldogs tally their second win of the season and advance to 2-1.

Leading the way for the Tars was freshman Liz Connelly, scoring four goals and two assists.' Freshman Katy Tyszko helped create offensive action by placing two balls in the cage, and adding an assist for a total of three points.'

Tyszko was followed by junior Annie Harris and freshman Courtney Bianculli, who each netted two goals, as well as freshman Katie Hubbell who scored one.' Junior Lisa Weber had another solid day in the cage making 13 saves throughout the game.

Allison Faiola had a phenomenal game for the Bulldogs, netting eight goals and finding assists on two.' Behind Faiola were Lauren Albert with four goals, one assist, Caitlyn Hansen with three, Delia Glover with one goal, one assist, and Lindsey Cann, Kaitlyn McCabe, and Eliza Demarseilles each adding one goal.

The Tars got off to a slow start as the Bulldogs pulled ahead to a 5-0 lead in the first ten minutes.' The first Rollins goal came with a little under 18 minutes from a Tyszko-Harris combo right in front of the cage.' With their initial goal under their belts, the Tars would not find much more action in their offensive zone for the remainder of the first period, entering into the half with a deficit of 11-3.

The Bulldogs came out of the halftime break unsuspecting, and a rejuvenated Rollins squad proved that they were a force to be reckoned with.' The Tars fired off three straight goals from Tyszko, Connelly, and Harris in just three minutes, pulling the women to within five of the Bulldogs.' The game continued with back and forth action for the remainder of the contest with both teams scoring eight goals in the second half.

The Tars will be back at Showalter Field on Saturday night as they take on the University of New Haven Chargers in their only night game of the season.' Initial draw is set for 7:00 p.m.
