CLERMONT, Fla. (March 10, 2008) ' The Rollins
softball team won both games this afternoon, the first coming
against American International 9-5, and the second against Bentley
10-0 at the National Training Center.
Christine Roser led all hitters on the day with four runs on
five hits and five RBI. Monica Meadows went 4-7, notching four RBI
for the Tars. Sherri Rabenold posted seven stolen bases, while
tallying five runs on two hits. Playing only in the second game,
Vanessa Volkema had a banner contest going 3-3 with two RBI and her
first triple of the season.
In the circle against American International, Nicole Anderson
picked up her fifth win, throwing seven innings and giving up five
runs on seven hits with eight strikeouts. Rachael Foster also
earned her fifth win of the season as she led the Tars with a no
hitter against Bentley. Foster pitched five innings walking one and
striking out 13. She also did well in the batter's box as she
tallied one run on two hits with three RBI and one triple.
The Tars (10-8) will be back in action tomorrow, March 11 when
they host a doubleheader against the Kentucky State Thorobreds.
First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
