KANSAS City, Kan. (October 28, 2008) The
Rollins women's soccer team tied defending national champion Tampa
this past weekend to remain undefeated on the year and earn an
eighth place standing in the national rankings announced on
Tuesday. After last week's double-overtime draw, the Tars now hold
an overall record of 11-0-3, 4-0-1 in Sunshine State Conference
action, placing them second in the SSC.
The women have three matches ahead of them this week in their
bid to post the program's first undefeated campaign. In a
whirlwind final week of regular season play, the Tars travel to
Miami Shores on Tuesday to take on Barry University, then host SSC
leader Florida Southern on Halloween before completing the season
in a make-up game Sunday, November 2, against Saint Leo.
In conference poll action, Florida Southern climbs one notch in
the standings this week, finding themselves ranked 23 in Division
II. Conference rival Tampa received votes for the second straight
week.
Kickoff for the Tars' first contest of the week to be held at
