SAINT LEO, Fla. (April 24, 2007) - The Rollins
baseball team lost to Saint Leo 14-4 in a midweek non-conference
game at Southard Stadium on Tuesday night.' The Tars fell to 24-23
with the loss, and the Lions improved to 26-22.
Rollins used five pitchers, and freshman starter Dean Reinke
(1-1) was credited with the loss after allowing six runs, all
unearned, on two hits and one walk.' Freshman reliever Matthew Lonk
scattered three hits over three innings, allowing no runs in his
first career appearance.' Freshman catcher Ben Hewett also made his
debut, going 1-3 with a run scored.' Sophomore outfielder Jesse
More drove in the Tars' first run on an RBI single in the fourth,
and he finished the day 1-3 with one RBI and one walk.' Senior
shortstop Ryan McKenzie went 1-3 with a walk and two RBI.
Saint Leo infielder Jorge Burgos led the Lions at the plate,
going 4-5 with a double, one run, and three RBI.' Left-hander Shane
Buriff (4-3) picked up the win after surrendering one run through
five innings.
The Tars will be back in action on Friday, April 24 in a
Sunshine State Conference game in Boca Raton, Fla. against Lynn at
