SAVANNAH, Ga. (November 30, 2007) ' Behind a
fourth place finish in the 800 yard freestyle relay, the Rollins
men's swim team sits tied for third place after day one of the
Savannah College of Art & Design Invitational. The Tars totaled
51 points during the opening evening of the event and are
deadlocked with Catawba. Wingate (149) and Limestone (89) lead the
way. The event will continue with two more days of competition
through the weekend.
Jeff Mueller, Jackson Nicholson, Daniel Paulling and Kamel
Tejeda posted a time of 7:14.21 in the 800 free relay, to take
fourth of the 20 teams competing. The Tars 'B' team finished 15th
in the race as Tom Alexander, Brad Rubash, Paul Hoffman and Carson
Nicely posted a time of 7:42.15.
The 1650 yard freestyle was the only other final on Friday with
Tejeda taking 8th (17:13.25) and Paulling coming in 11th (17:29.03)
of 32 competitors.'
Competition will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday with
the finals going off at 5 p.m. Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday.
