WINTER PARK, Fla. (November 3, 2007) ' The Tars
and Fighting Knights went to battle on Saturday afternoon as Lynn
came out on top 3-2 (30-17, 28-30, 30-21, 21-30, 15-12) at Warden
Arena.
Three Tars tallied double-doubles as Stephanie Nichols led the
way with 18 kills and 11 digs. Christina Reinders had a stellar 17
kills and 23 digs and Lorena Orlandini pounded home 14 kills and
four solo blocks for Rollins. Lacey Malarky had 54 assists and
libero Kim Cline added 20 digs. Nikki Swift also had a good day on
defense totaling 14 digs.
It was a back-and-forth afternoon as Lynn took the first and
third games, while Rollins grabbed the second and fourth. In the
fifth game, the Tars were up 3-0, but Lynn quickly came back with
kills from Camila Lins (5-5). Rollins would only have the lead once
more (6-5), before Lynn took the match by the score of 15-12.
Lynn (19-10, 5-8) had three players with double-figure kills
with Daris Rodriguez registering 21, Lins with 20 and Irmina Zamara
with 12. Setter Devon Woolard notched 55 assists and libero
Christie Schade had 21 digs on the afternoon.
The Tars (17-16, 4-9) will be back in action tomorrow, November
4 at 2:00 p.m. as they host the Barry University Buccaneers (11-16,
