SAINT LEO, Fla. (October 26, 2007) ' In a
hard-fought effort, the Rollins volleyball team went down against
the Saint Leo Lions 3-0 (30-19, 30-13, 30-27) on Friday evening at
the Bowman Activities Center.
Both Christina Reinders and Stephanie Nichols notched seven
kills each with Reinders also tallying eight digs. Libero Kim Cline
had a double-digit dig evening with 14 and Lacey Malarky registered
28 assists.
Saint Leo simply overpowered Rollins in Game One and Game Two,
not allowing the Tars to get more than 20 points. In the third
game, Rollins fought hard, but were unable to finish strong against
a tough team with loud home-court crowd.
The Lions (24-8, 6-5) were led by middle blocker Kaitlin McKenna
who had 11 kills and hit a .917. Setter Michelle Nogueras had an
impressive 39 assists, 16 digs and six kills.
The Tars (16-14, 4-7) will be back in action tomorrow, October
27 as they play host to the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish at 7:00
