WINTER PARK, Fla. (November 28, 2006) ' The
Tars men's basketball team notched their fourth straight win over
Southeastern University 87-62 Tuesday evening at Warden Arena.
Rollins now ranks fifth in the NABC/Division II Coaches Poll.
Junior point guard Jonny Reibel controlled the Tars' (4-1)
offense with 18 points. He shot six of nine from the arc and only
missed one of his five free throws. Sophomore center Craig Reichel
added 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Danny Rohrdanz and Israel Galloway led the Southeastern
University Fire (3-6) with 12 points each, followed by Sterling
Brown with 10 points.
Rollins jolted out to an immediate lead with the help of guard
John Thinnes and Reichel who each tallied 10 points in the first
half. Reichel also snatched eight rebounds. At the 3:20 mark in the
first half, the Tars were up by as many as 15 points and when the
halftime horn sounded Rollins led Southeastern University by
21.
The Fire were only able to cut their 21-point deficit to 14 in
the second half (60-46). From the 10:20 mark until the end of the
game, the Tars held at least a 17 point lead on the Fire. Forwards
Isaac Codrey and Greg Sweeney chipped in one three-pointer a piece
to close out the Tars final home game until next week.
Rollins will travel to play the University of Tampa (5-1) on
