Barry came out of the gates in the first half on fire. The Bucs hit seven of their first nine shots from the floor to take a 19-11 lead in the first seven minutes. From there though the Tars defense toughened up and would only allow seven more points the rest of the first half. The Bucs would cut the lead to six with 10:26 to go on a free throw by Eddie Young, but they would get no closer. Two minutes later the Tars put the lead back into double figures and would never let it go below nine from there.
