PALM BEACH , Fla. (January 24, 2006) The Rollins College men's
basketball team took care of business on the road in a
non-conference game against Palm Beach Atlantic, winning by a score
of 86-70. The Tars (12-5) needed a big second half to take out the
Sailfish (4-17), who were down only two at the break. Rollins
scored 45 of their 86 in the second half while shooting 54 percent
from the floor to bury Palm Beach Atlantic.

Junior forward Isaac Codrey led the offensive attack for the Tars
as he finished with 16 points on 4-7 shooting. Codrey was also 8-8
from the free throw line. Junior forward Jon Smith had another
great game for the Tars as well. Smith finished with 14 points and
grabbed three rebounds in 15 minutes of play. Freshman guard Kevin
Hogan finished with 13 points on 3-4 shooting. And junior forward
John Thinnes netted 12 points on 3-4 shooting from long range.

The
Tars began the game with a 10-6 run, capped off by a three point
play by John Thinnes. The Sailfish answered with an 8-0 run of
their own over the next two minutes to go up 14-10 on a three
pointer by Spencer Foreman. The lead would change hands five more
times over the rest of the half. But by the break, the Tars took a
two point lead into the half on a three by Jonny Reibel.

Jon
Smith started the Tars off in the second half with six straight
points to put Rollins up 48-43. Over the next seven minutes,
Rollins looked to put the Sailfish away with an 18-5 run capped off
by a Kevin Hogan trey. The Tars led by as many as 24 in the second
half, and went on to win by a score of 86-70.

The
Tars will be back in action on Saturday afternoon when they will
battle the Sunshine State Conference's second ranked team, Nova
Southeastern at 4pm in Warden Arena.
