After a stellar playing career for the Tars, Amber Heistan enters her second season as a member of Glenn Wilkes Jr.''s coaching staff. She will oversee video operations and administration of the program as well as coach the Tars forwards and centers.
PLAYING CAREER:
2010-11: Only Tar to play and start in every game for Rollins, ranking second on the team with 11.2 points a game....Led the Tars with 73 three-pointers and tied for first with 17 blocks...Led the team in scoring seven times, including 20 points against Tampa and 21 against Saint Leo...Against the Lions, set a school record with seven 3-pointers (7-8); Also set a career high with five steals against SLU...named Second Team All-Sunshine State Conference.
2009-10: Saw action in all 29 games in her first season for the Tars, starting 23...averaged a team-best 24.8 minutes a game...second on the team in scoring with 9.9 points a game and second in rebounds with 5.4 a night...Led Rollins and was fifth in the Sunshine State Conference with 55 (55-156) 3-pointers...shot 40-of-60 (67 percent) from the free-throw line...scored in double-figures 19 times, led Rollins in scoring nine times...scored 11 points and led team with six rebounds in first game with Rollins (Nov. 16)...made first start at North Georgia and scored 12 points (Nov. 21)...started the last 17 games of the season...recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds against Florida Southern (Jan. 9)...hit five 3-pointers and scored career high 19 points at Florida Southern (Feb. 6)...went 6-of-8 from the field (4-of-5, 3-pointers) and scored 16 points in regular season finale victory against Eckerd, securing second place in the SSC for the Tars.
2008-09 (Toledo): Appeared in 14 games, making three starts...averaged 2.6 points, 1.9 rebounds and 0.6 assists in 9.7 minutes per game...scored season-high 11 points with five rebounds in 21 minutes off the bench at Cincinnati (Nov. 23)...registered season-high six rebounds at IPFW (Nov. 29)...knocked down two three-pointers in two of three games at Bank of Hawaii Invitational (Nov. 14-16)...tallied three points, four rebounds and career-best four assists against host Hawaii in second game of Bank of Hawaii Invitational (Nov. 15).
2007-08 (Toledo): Appeared in all 30 games, making four starts ...earned the 6th Man Award...averaged 5.1 points, 1.0 assists, 0.6 steals and 0.4 blocks in 15.3 minutes per game (5.9 ppg, 2.5 rpg and 0.6 bpg in MAC play)...led the Rockets in blocked shots seven times, steals on five occasions, assists twice, as well as scoring and rebounding once...earned team''s "Sixth Player Award," presented by Lady Rockets Fan Club...made at least two three-pointers and shot 42.9 percent (15-of-35) from beyond the arc in five of last eight games (Feb. 16-Mar. 14)...finished perfect 4-of-4 from three-point land and tallied career-high 14 points at Western Michigan (Mar. 5)...hit three three-pointers and finished with 11 points at Central Michigan (Mar. 1)...tallied six points, two boards and one steal vs. Eastern Michigan (Feb. 27)...had eight points, three assists and one rebound in 22 minutes versus Miami (Feb. 16)...contributed eight points and two blocked shots at Northern Illinois (Jan. 23)...made second career start at Eastern Michigan and tallied 12 points, nine caroms and three blocked shots in 33 minutes (Jan. 12)...finished with nine points, four boards and three assists versus Central Michigan (Jan. 9)...nailed three second-half triples at Memphis and finished with nine points, three assists and three steals in 23 minutes (Jan. 4)...made first collegiate start at Detroit and finished with three rebounds (Dec. 18)...registered career-high four steals and three assists at Bradley (Dec. 8)...knocked down three triples and finished with 12 points vs. Eastern Illinois (Nov. 24)...had 11 points and two assists in collegiate debut against IPFW (Nov. 10).
