A former standout collegiate player and experienced individual instructor, Riley Oakes joined the Rollins softball coaching staff in the fall of 2026.
A Central Florida native, Oakes attended Bishop Moore Catholic High School, where she was an All-State selection and set the program's single-season record with 306 strikeouts as a freshman.
She began her collegiate career at Radford University, competing as a two-way player from 2019-21. She earned First Team All-Big South honors in 2021 before transferring to Florida Gulf Coast University to finish her collegiate career.
In her final season at FGCU in 2024, [Name] started all 58 games and hit .337 with 65 hits, 27 runs, 24 RBIs, and 12 stolen bases. She earned Third Team All-ASUN honors and was named to the ASUN All-Tournament Team after helping the Eagles capture the 2024 ASUN Championship. She also received FGCU's Duane Swanson Sr. Inspirational Award.
Off the field, Oakes earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from FGCU and was named to the university's President's List in 2023. She later earned a Certificate in Health Services Administration and completed her Emergency Medical Technician training at Seminole State College during her final collegiate season.
Following graduation and the conclusion of her playing career, Oakes joined AdventHealth as a Patient Care Technician, working on a pulmonary and thoracic surgical unit. She remained involved in softball by providing individualized pitching and hitting instruction at Stix Softball.
Oakes later stepped away from the medical field to pursue collegiate coaching, joining the Rollins softball program as an assistant coach.
