2009: Started in eight of the 17 games she appeared in...tallied RBIs in four games, while having three multi-RBI games for the Tars including a three RBI game against Kentucky St. (3/11/09)...was a perfect 1-for-1 in stolen bases along with scoring five runs...provided a powerful bat for the Tars when slotted in the designated hitter spot.

2008: Volkema started in 10 of the 15 games she appeared in...collected 10 RBIs, while batting .452 with three triples...also held a .710 slugging percentage and posted a perfect fielding percentage as she collected five putouts.

High School: Volkema earned playing time at University HS as a catcher and outfield...garnered a team MVP award for one season...also participated in weightlifting her sophomore through senior years at University HS.

Personal: Born on 10/18/88...daughter of Dwayne and Karen Volkema...enjoys cooking, reading, and listening to music...wishes to pursue a law degree and work for the government...majoring in psychology with a German and English minor.
