Biography

Excellent attacker who coaches consider to be an outstanding addition to the team... great finisher who provides a strong presence on the field... is also a tenacious rider who will be looked to create lots of turnovers in the midfield.

2010:  Played and started in all 14 games for the Tars... finished the season with 22 goals and six assists for 28 overall points... earned 25 ground balls and 11 draw controls... caused four turnovers... notched a season high four goals and an assist for five points against Converse on April 2, 2010... matched a career best six ground balls on March 22, 2010 against Queens (NC)... earned two draw controls in three different games.

2009: Came into her own throughout the season... played and started in all 15 games for the Tars... best game of freshman season was in season opener against Pfeiffer, where she scored seven goals and notched an assist for eight points in the game... racked up 26 goals and nine assists on the season... collected 45 ground balls, 14 draw controls, and caused seven turnovers... notched a career high six ground balls three times in the season... second highest scoring game was against Erskine on April 3, 2009, with a total of five goals.

High School: Played midfield and attack for Midwest powerhouse New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois, captaining her team her senior year... helped lead her lacrosse team to final four appearances from sophomore through senior year, helping the team to a championship win her senior season in 2008... scored 43 goals and 18 assists in 2008... earned Rookie of the Year honors her sophomore season for the Trevians... an All-Conference selection as a sophomore and junior, Surpless was the Great Lakes 2 team leading scorer at the National Tournament in 2007... was also a four year letter winner in field hockey, helping the team to a 2007 Championship win... also played for the Northwestern Wildcats Club Team from 2006 to 2007.

Personal: Daughter of Majorie and James Surpless... father played Tennis for Emory... has a brother, Trey... majoring in Psychology.
