Kevin Hogan was named the head coach of Rollins men's basketball on April 10, 2025. Previously, he was named the interim head coach prior to the 2024-25 season, following a leave of absence from Tom Klusman. Hogan led the Tars to a 16-14 record, improving the Tars by seven games from the previous year. Two of his players, Beau Frericks and Emilis Butkus, were named 3rd Team All-SSC, with Frericks also earning Academic All-District recognition.Â
Klusman named the former Rollins standout guard as the Tars new assistant coach prior to the 2018-19 season.
"I'm very excited about Kevin joining the staff," said Klusman. "Kevin is one of the hardest working players we've ever had, and will use his coaching experiences in Division I to innovate some of the things we do."
A native of Pensacola, Hogan was part of the Tars program for five seasons and is currently 24th on the all-time scoring list with 1,295 career points. He is second all-time in program history with 270 made three-pointers and third in three-point percentage, hitting 44 percent from beyond the arc. Hogan was named SSC Honorable Mention his senior season in 2009.Â
Hogan was a part of two Sunshine State Conference regular season championship teams and won the 2006 SSC Tournament. Twice he led the Tars to the NCAA South Region Tournament. Hogan's teams posted a four-year record of 88-34, making him one of the winningest players in program history.Â
Hogan graduated from Rollins with a bachelor's degree in political science in 2007, before going on to earn his MBA in finance from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins in 2009. Â
Hogan's coaching stops include Florida A&M, Tallahassee Community College, William & Mary, and Austin Peay. Coaching basketball at the collegiate level runs in the Hogan family;Â his father, Don, was the head coach at the University of West Florida from 1993-2009, and was also an assistant at Coastal Carolina.Â
Kevin lives in Central Florida with his wife, Haley, and their three kids: Graham (14), Brooks (11), and Blair (7).Â
