MBKB Dux 24-25

Kevin Dux

Kevin Dux joined the men's basketball program prior to the 2024-25 season as an assistant coach.

From 2022-24, Dux was the varsity head coach at IMG Academy, one of the premier programs in the entire country. His nine graduating seniors over two years all went on to play college basketball.

From 2018-22, he was as assistant coach at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Across four seasons (three of which were impacted by COVID), the Bears went 58-21 and reached the NCAA D-III tournament twice. They were still playing in the Sweet 16 when COVID canceled the spring 2020 season. Dux was part of the UAA Coaching Staff of the Year in 2020, as the Bears claimed the UAA conference championship. Under Dux's watch, eleven players were selected All-UAA, including two-time All-American Jack Nolan.

Prior to his time in Missouri, Dux was the Director of Basketball Operations (two years) and an assistant coach (three years) at Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. In his first season as an assistant in 2014, the Hatters went to the ASUN championship game for the first time in twenty years. Among his mentees were the school's all-time leading scorer, Divine Myles; all-time assists leader, Angel Rivera; all-time three pointers made record holder, Luke Doyle; and ASUN Freshman of the Year, and future NBA G League player, Derick Newton.

Dux also had a two-year stint at Florida State as a grad assistant in 2011-12 and 2012-13, helping the Seminoles to their first ACC Tournament Championship. They would make a run to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament that season.

His coaching career began at D-III Coe College in Iowa where he spent two years as an assistant coach from 2009-11.

Before coaching at Coe, Dux was a four-year letterwinner for the Kohawks. He was named All-Iowa Conference in 2008-09, Academic All-Iowa Conference, Academic All-District, and NABC Honors court. He graduated with the second-best three-point percentage in school history, shooting 44.1% from distance.

Dux graduated with a bachelor's degree in education from Coe in 2009, and a masters of science in sports management from Florida State in 2013.

Kevin lives with his wife, Danielle, and their daughter, Madison. Originally from Boulder, Colorado, Dux is a fan of all Colorado pro sports teams and the University of Colorado Buffaloes.
