BOCA RATON, Fla. (September 30, 2026) – The Lynn Fighting Knights took down the Tars 3-0 in Boca Raton on Wednesday night.
Lynn opened with an attacking mindset, drawing three corners in the opening minutes. The Rollins defense held firm as the Fighting Knights sent their early attempts off target while Killian Vallant added a save to keep the match scoreless.
The Tars struggled to gain possession as Lynn continued to apply pressure, earning three more corners minutes later. Vallant came through with another save to keep the Fighting Knights off the board.
Rollins finally began to settle into possession around the 33rd minute, working the ball up the field in search of its first offensive opportunity. Lynn responded with another attempt on the other end, but the shot missed the mark as the score remained level.
The Tars eventually worked their way into the attacking third, where
Finlay Prain fired Rollins' first shot on goal. The Lynn keeper made the save, but the opportunity helped the Tars earn their first corner of the night. The ensuing possession was eventually blown dead following a Rollins foul as the physicality began to increase, with Lynn being shown the first card of the match.
Rollins continued to push, earning its second corner of the night before a shot from Prain was blocked. Lynn quickly turned the opportunity the other way, scoring on the counter to take a 1-0 advantage into the halftime break.
The Fighting Knights carried that momentum into the second half, finding the back of the net again to double their advantage.
Frustration began to build for Rollins as the half progressed, with
Shota Fukinishi and
Max Walker both being shown cards. Lynn continued to push forward, keeping the Tars pinned in their defensive half. Another Rollins card, this time issued to
Oskar Miller, led to a dangerous stretch of opportunities for the Fighting Knights.
The Rollins defense weathered the pressure, with Vallant making a pair of saves and the Tars adding a team save to prevent Lynn from extending the lead.
The Fighting Knights kept their foot on the gas, eventually finding another scoring opportunity in the 84th minute and converting to make it 3-0. With little time remaining, the three-goal deficit proved too much to overcome as Lynn closed out the victory.
Lynn improves to 3-1-4 overall and 2-1-1 in SSC play, while Rollins falls to 4-3-1 overall and 2-2 in conference action. The Tars return home on Saturday, October 3 at 6:00 pm when they host Florida Southern at Cahall-Sandspur Field.
