Krissy Carman Named Head Coach of Women's Golf

Former Oregon assistant, USGA Amateur Champion will lead Tars

WINTER PARK, Fla. (July 6, 2026) - Rollins Associate Vice President of Athletics Pennie Parker announced the hiring of Krissy Carman as the next head coach for Tars women's golf on Monday afternoon. Carman joins Rollins after three years as an assistant at the University of Oregon as well as a championship amateur golf career.

"I am delighted to welcome Krissy as the next head coach of our women's golf program," said Parker. "Rollins has a rich tradition of excellence in women's golf, and I am confident that Krissy will work alongside our current student-athletes to build on that legacy of success. She is the ideal choice to lead our program because of her commitment to developing the entire student-athlete - emphasizing academic achievement while helping them grow into champions on and off the course. I am excited about the future of Rollins women's golf, and look forward to watching the program thrive under Krissy's leadership."

Carman joined the Ducks' staff in the summer of 2023, and had an immediate impact. In her three years, Oregon made two NCAA Championship semifinal appearances, ranked as high as #3 in the country, took home the 2025 Big Ten Conference and NCAA Regional Championships, and also claimed the #1 recruiting class in the nation for 2026. Carman helped guide junior Kiara Romero to the #1 spot in the amateur world rankings and three consecutive first-team All-American seasons.

"I am incredibly honored and excited to join the Rollins College family as the head women's golf coach," Carman said. "I want to thank Pennie and the hiring committee for believing in me and entrusting me with this incredible opportunity. From the moment I learned more about Rollins and the commitment to excellence in academics, athletics, and developing outstanding young women, I knew this was a place where I wanted to be."

Oregon's head coach, Derek Radley, could not be happier for his protégé. "Coach Krissy is one of the most caring, hard working, and positive coaches I have ever been around, and has helped elevate our women's golf program over the past three seasons here in Eugene," he said. "She is a rockstar coach, wife, and mom, and I wish her all best in her bright future ahead! Once a Duck, always a Duck."

Carman, a native of Canby, Oregon, played two seasons at Oregon State before transferring to Portland State. In her two years with the Vikings, Carman (formerly Peterson) was a first team All-Big Sky selection, a two-time All-Big Sky Tournament Team selection, and was the winner of the 2016 Oregon Women's Amateur Championship. After taking time off following the birth of her son, Carman returned to competition, winning the 2022 Oregon Stroke Play Championship and the USGA Mid-Amateur Championship. Her impressive win at the Mid-Amateur earned her a spot at the 2023 US Women's Open, held at historic Pebble Beach.

After earning her bachelor's degree in Health Studies from Portland State, Carman added a masters in Leadership, Health & Policy from PSU while graduating with honors in 2021.

For the first time since 2000, the Tars will have a new head coach as Carman replaces WGCA Hall of Famer Julie Garner. Under Garner's tutelage, Rollins took home six NCAA D-II National Championships. Garner believes that Carman is the perfect candidate to continue the Tars' legacy.

"I am thrilled for Krissy to be the next leader of Rollins golf," stated Garner. "Her high-level coaching experience, coupled with her USGA championship pedigree, is a fantastic combination to guide our program into the future. Her holistic approach to the development of our student athletes is in lock-step with the College's mission. She is a great role model for our ladies, and we are certainly leveling up with Krissy as our new coach!"

Carman added: "I look forward to building meaningful relationships with our student-athletes, alumni, and supporters while creating a championship culture rooted in hard work, accountability, and genuine care for our players. My goal is to help our student-athletes reach their highest potential on the course, in the classroom, and in life while representing Rollins with pride. I can't wait to get to work and build on the proud tradition of Rollins women's golf that prior head coach Julie Garner created. Go Tars!"
