LAKELAND, Fla. (May 15, 2026) - The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association announced their end of season awards on Friday, honoring the top players from the South Region. Rollins was represented with a pair of players on the second team.
Starting pitcher
Noah Greenseid claimed his spot after going 5-1 in regular season play in his first year with the Tars. The 6-4 righty tied for the team lead in strikeouts with 59 while tossing 72.1 innings. Pegged as the Friday starter all season, Greenseid routinely went up against the best pitchers of Rollins' opponents, and held his own. He had four starts against NCAA tournament teams including Central Missouri, West Florida, Tampa, and Wayne State. In those starts, he allowed only seven earned runs.
Collin Hughes took the utility spot on the second team. Similar to Greenseid, Hughes is in his first season as a Tar, but found his comfort zone quickly. He had at least one hit in each of his first 19 starts, and totaled 20 multi-hit games on the year. He led Rollins with a .405 average as well as hits (62) and on-base percentage (.521). The current season record for OBP is .514 (Grant Ashline, 2016), so we will see if Hughes can keep up the hot streak as the Tars navigate the NCAA tournament.
Both Greenseid and Hughes were selected as first team All-SSC performers.
The NCBWA named West Florida's Zach Stokes the Player of the Year and Delta State's Adrian Byrd the Pitcher of the Year.
