WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 8, 2026) – Rollins men's lacrosse edged (RV) Embry-Riddle on a rainy Wednesday night at Cahall-Sandspur Field, earning a hard-fought 9-8 victory in a defensive battle.
Nate Paulo opened the scoring on the game's first possession with an unassisted goal to give Rollins the early lead. Embry-Riddle responded immediately to even the score, then added another a few minutes later to take the advantage.
Aaron Williams answered for the Tars with an unassisted tally to tie things at 2-2. After several empty possessions on both sides, the Eagles broke through late in the quarter, but
Chad Bulera responded with the equalizer to send the game into the second tied at 3-3.
Both defenses continued to set the tone in the second quarter, as early possessions came up empty before Embry-Riddle found the go-ahead goal just over five minutes in. Rollins answered after another defensive stretch, with
Avery Kamuf finding the back of the net to even the score.
Brady Greco followed with a faceoff win to give the Tars possession, and
Conor Sweeney connected with Bulera for his second goal of the night, giving Rollins a 5-4 lead at halftime.
The defensive battle carried into the third, with neither side able to generate consistent offense. Embry-Riddle broke through midway through the quarter with two goals to reclaim the lead, and despite several opportunities, Rollins was unable to convert, trailing 6-5 heading into the final frame.
Rollins responded quickly in the fourth, as Williams scored in the opening seconds and added another moments later to swing the momentum back in favor of the Tars. The Eagles capitalized on a man-up opportunity to tie the game at 7-7, but Williams answered once again with his fourth goal of the night to restore the Rollins lead. Embry-Riddle found the equalizer with just under five minutes remaining, setting up a tense finish.
The Eagles generated multiple late chances, but
Colin Selters came up with two crucial saves to keep the game level. With under 10 seconds remaining,
Logan McHugh dodged to the middle and delivered the game-winning goal, lifting Rollins to the 9-8 victory.
Williams led all scorers with four goals, while Bulera added a multi-goal performance. At the faceoff X, Greco went 14-for-19, while Jack Woynarski collected four ground balls. Five different Tars recorded caused turnovers, and
Nick Catino and Selters combined for 11 saves, with Selters earning the win in goal.
Rollins improves to 6-6 (2-3 SSC) on the season, while Embry-Riddle falls to 7-5 (2-3 SSC). The Tars will return to action on Saturday, April 11, traveling to Lakeland to take on Florida Southern at 7 p.m.
