MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (April 12, 2026) - Baseball finished their series sweep of Barry on Sunday, winning 8-2. The victory marks six straight for the Tars, who now stand at 26-9, 17-4 SSC for the season. The Bucs fall to 19-19, 6-14 SSC.
Rollins got on the board early when
Jayden Brown drove in
Collin Hughes and
Connor O'Sullivan with a hard-hit single up the middle. The Bucs threatened in the bottom of the first with two on, but
Brody Meyers pitched himself out of the jam.Â
After quiet frames in the second and third, Barry broke through against Meyers in the fourth. A walk, error, and single brought in the first run. Two batters later, Dyson Joseph blooped a single to center to bring in a second run, but Brown's throw from center cut down Brandon Delaphina to keep the game tied at two.Â
Barry was in prime shape to take the lead in the sixth with runners on the corners and two outs.
David Austen fired a ball to home that got away from Hughes, but he was able to recover and flip it to Austen, who applied the tag on Joseph, ending the inning.
Rollins broke the game open in the seventh inning, using five hits and two errors to scored six times.
Joey Rubin picked up an RBI wearing a pitch. That was followed by a two-run base hit from Hughes, plating
Mauri Bejarano and
Jimmy Thies. Rubin came across on a wild pitch during the next at bat. Then, with two outs, O'Sullivan chopped a ball between second and short. The ball was fielded, but the throw to first was well off target, allowing Hughes to score. Brown then added the sixth run with an RBI single to the gap, making it 8-2.Â
AJ Seymour pitched the final three innings to earn his fifth save of the season. He stranded two runners in the seventh, put the Bucs down in order in the eighth, and struck out the final batter of the game to put a bow on the series sweep.Â
Brown had three hits and three RBI to lead the offense. Hughes chipped in two hits, two runs, and two RBI. Austen earned his first win of the season in relief.Â
The Tars will have a day off before heading back to South Florida on Tuesday for a single, non-conference game against Palm Beach Atlantic. First pitch is scheduled for 6pm.Â
