Sharks Complete Sweep of Tars

Nova Southeastern defeated Rollins twice on Saturday

WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 21, 2026) - Softball dropped both ends of a doubleheader to the Nova Southeastern Sharks on Saturday. The Tars now stand at 17-10, 5-7 SSC while the Sharks improve to 19-15, 5-7 SSC.

GAME ONE
Nova Southeastern 15, Rollins 0
5 Innings

Nova Southeastern jumped on Camila Leon-Blanco in the second inning, tagging her for six runs on five hits, including a grand slam from Ana Richiez. They added three more runs in the third on a three-run home run, and then scored six times in the fourth on only two hits thanks to three walks and two hit batters.

Cambrie Todd had two hits in the loss.

GAME TWO
Nova Southeastern 12, Rollins 4
6 Innings

The Tars looked like a different team in the first inning, using RBI groundouts from Rachel Matthiesen and Todd to go up 2-0 early. Rollins looked poised to add to their score in the second with runners on second and third and one out, but could not bring them in.

Following two scoreless from Addison Crawford, Reese Twiggs replaced her in the circle and added scoreless frames in the third and fourth. The Tars then added to their lead in the bottom of the inning. After Brooke Theisen walked to lead off, she moved to third on a double from Marisa Edevane. Claire Long brought in Theisen with a groundout, followed by Jenna Borkey bring Edevane in with on an error from the Sharks' centerfielder.

The Tars seemed to be in great position, up 4-0 entering the fifth inning. However, the Sharks loaded the bases with one out, and scored a run with a hit batter. Gianna Russo then followed with a sharp groundball to short that looked to be a tailor-made double play ball. Unfortunately, it was misplayed, allowing a run to score and the inning to continue. With the bases still loaded, Nova Southeastern went hit by pitch, strikeout, walk, hit by pitch, grand slam to take a 9-4 lead.

Nova then added three more runs in the sixth thanks to a Rollins error and a two-run single. The game was called an inning early due to run-rule.

Perantoni, Daylin Hejtmanek, and Edevane each had two hits in the loss. Leon-Blanco took the loss despite zero of the runs scored against counting as earned.

The Tars are back in action this Friday, March 27 when they travel to Boca Raton to take on Lynn. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 pm.
