Host Tars Finish Third at Peggy Kirk Bell

Adverse weather conditions shortened event to two rounds

LONGWOOD, Fla. (March 17, 2026) - Rollins hosted eight other schools at Legacy Club at Alaqua Lakes for the Peggy Kirk Bell Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. Due to rain and lightning on Monday, the second round was canceled, leading to a 36-hole event.

Monday morning was lovely, and led to a respectable nine-over 297 in the first round. Sarah Knitter and Leah Li led the charge with one-over 73s. Both golfers had identical rounds of two birdies, three bogeys, and 13 pars. Two shots behind was Lindsay Lee who turned in a 75 (+3). Alisha Rametra rounded out the team scoring with a 76 (+4), including a team-best 36 (E) on the front nine.

Right as the last group was wrapping up, the skies opened and ruined the chances to play a second round on Monday. Instead, the field teed off their final round on Tuesday morning in temperatures in the 40s.

The cold weather had a devastating effect on most of the golfers. Freshman Addy Vogt was impressive though, posting a 73 (+1) on the heels of 17 pars and one bogey. Rametra was next in line with her 77 (+5). Knitter added eight strokes to her initial effort, playing to an 81. She was one of only three Tars to record a birdie on Tuesday. Li was the final scorer for the Tars with her 82 (+10).

Rollins ended in third place after going 34 over. Barry took the team trophy with a score of +20. Fellow SSC member Lynn was sandwiched between the Bucs and the Tars, finishing one shot better than Rollins with a +33.

Barry's Tereza Zavrelova was the individual champion with a 145 (+1). Vogt ended up tied for 5th for the Tars, finishing seven over with a 151.

Rollins has one more tournament on the schedule before the SSC championships. They will have some time off before traveling to Boca Raton to play in the Lynn Invitational on March 30.
