ST. LOUIS, Mo. (March 16, 2026) – Rollins men's lacrosse earned another ranked road victory on Monday afternoon, using a second-quarter surge to defeat No. 7 Maryville, 11-9.
The opening five minutes were quiet before Maryville broke through with the game's first goal, adding two more just minutes later to take a 3-0 lead. Rollins called timeout but continued to search for offensive rhythm as the Saints added another to extend the margin. The Tars finally broke through when
Brady Greco won the faceoff and
Logan Myers converted a pass from
William Kubie to put Rollins on the board. Neither side found the net the rest of the quarter, sending the Tars into the second trailing 4-1.
After several empty possessions to open the second,
Aaron Williams sparked the Rollins offense with an unassisted goal. The Tars quickly followed with another as
Sean Caracciolo finished a feed from
Nate Paulo to trim the deficit to one. Moments later,
Logan McHugh tied the game, finishing a pass from
Logan Myers. Following several traded possessions, Rollins grabbed its first lead of the afternoon when Caracciolo buried a pass from Williams. Paulo then connected with Brody Nelson on a man-up opportunity less than a minute later to stretch the lead to two. Maryville answered with a late goal, but Rollins carried a 6-5 advantage into halftime.
The Saints regained momentum to start the second half, scoring the first two goals of the third quarter to reclaim the lead. Paulo responded with the equalizer on a pass from
Charlie Metz, and
Malakai Au secured the ensuing faceoff to give the Tars possession. Williams capitalized moments later, finishing to put Rollins back in front. Both defenses held firm the rest of the quarter, sending the Tars into the final frame with an 8-7 lead.
Rollins added some breathing room early in the fourth.
Sean Laureano converted a man-up opportunity off an assist from
Conor Sweeney, and
Chad Bulera followed shortly after with a goal from Paulo to extend the advantage. Another faceoff win gave the Tars possession once again, and Williams completed his hat trick to push the lead to four. Maryville made a late push, but the Saints' comeback attempt fell short as Rollins secured the 11-9 victory.
Williams led the Tars with four points on three goals and an assist, while Paulo added four points of his own with two goals and two assists. Caracciolo also turned in a multi-goal performance in the win. Metz, Greco, and Jack Woynarski each collected three ground balls to tie for the team lead.
Colin Selters,
Christopher Carhart, and Jack McCallum each forced a turnover, while Greco went 10-for-17 at the faceoff X. In goal, Selters earned the win with nine saves.
