WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 18, 2026) – Rollins women's basketball fell in a back-and-forth conference battle to Barry on Wednesday night, 73–63, inside Warden Arena.
Barry struck first with two quick baskets before
Victoria Escribano put the Tars on the board with a pair from the free-throw line.
Claire Erickson added one at the stripe to answer another Buccaneer score, and
Elaina Kline-Ruminski buried a three to even things up. Barry answered with a run to regain control, but
Grace Craig slowed the momentum with an offensive rebound and putback.
Jordyn Egger knocked down a three between Barry buckets, though the Bucs closed the quarter ahead 22–11.
Barry opened the second with a jumper, but Craig's layup sparked a response for Rollins.
Faith Newton and Kline-Ruminski each attacked the rim for finishes to pull the Tars back within striking distance. Kline-Ruminski continued to trade baskets with the Bucs, and
Makayla Daube added a second-chance jumper to trim the deficit to seven. The teams continued to exchange scores, with Escribano finishing in the lane and Erickson converting twice at the line. Barry carried a 35–25 advantage into halftime.
The Bucs scored the first two baskets of the third, but Newton answered with a three to steady the Tars. Craig and Newton continued to match Barry's scoring, and back-to-back buckets from Erickson and Newton cut the margin to five. Barry responded with another surge to stretch the lead back to double digits before Craig halted the run. After a defensive stop, Escribano finished inside to pull Rollins back within two possessions. Erickson closed the quarter with a three to make it a nine-point game heading into the final frame.
Kline-Ruminski opened the fourth with a strong finish in the paint, and Newton followed with free throws before Erickson connected from deep to cut the deficit to seven. Kline-Ruminski continued to battle inside, trading baskets with the Bucs to keep the Tars within reach. A late Barry run ultimately proved decisive, and despite a final jumper from Kline-Ruminski, the Bucs secured the 73–63 win.
Eight Tars found the scoring column as Rollins totaled 32 points in the paint and 12 fast-break points. Kline-Ruminski led the way with 21 points and seven rebounds. Newton added 12 on a perfect night at the free-throw line, while Erickson finished with 11 points, a team-high eight assists, and three blocks.
Rollins moves to 7–18 overall and 2–16 in SSC play, while Barry improves to 7–17 (4–13 SSC). The Tars return to action Saturday, Feb. 21, for a 2 p.m. matchup against Palm Beach Atlantic in Winter Park.
