Tars to Host Annual Colorful and Courageous Game on Saturday

WINTER PARK, Fla. – Rollins volleyball will host its annual Colorful and Courageous Game on Saturday as the Tars welcome Saint Leo to Warden Arena for a 4 p.m. matchup.

Fans attending the match are encouraged to bring new crayons and coloring books, which will be collected and donated to local hospitals for pediatric patients. Fans are also encouraged to join the Tars in wearing colorful or tie-dye attire to the match.

The Colorful and Courageous tradition was inspired by Sophie Piller, a young girl from Rome, Georgia, whose story connected with Rollins head coach Mika Robinson during her time as the head coach at Berry College.

Sophie was diagnosed with hepatoblastoma in December 2013 and found comfort in coloring and drawing while spending time in the hospital. After surviving her battle, Sophie turned that experience into an opportunity to help other children, leading a drive that collected more than 1,000 boxes of crayons for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite.

Inspired by Sophie's courage and generosity, Robinson and her teams began their own effort to bring some extra color to children undergoing treatment. The tradition has continued at Rollins through the Colorful and Courageous Game, with the Tars collecting crayons and coloring books for pediatric patients at local hospitals.

The Tars will wear their Colorful and Courageous tie-dye shirts Saturday, and fans are encouraged to fill the stands with color while contributing to the cause.

First serve between Rollins and Saint Leo is set for 4 p.m. Saturday inside Warden Arena.
